The Location & Couple
Nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina are many hidden gems and Max Patch is one of them! This rolling mountain meadow is a well-loved spot along the Appalachian Trail. A short hike leads to the ultimate reward, a 360 degree view from the top. Max Patch enchants all who visit but it held a special place in April and Meredith’s hearts as the scene of their engagement and on this day their wedding! April and Meredith met through mutual friends when living in Asheville and have always found solace in the beauty of the mountains.
The excitement between April and Meredith on their wedding day was electric. To hold true to their wishes of not seeing each other before the ceremony I helped create a strategy to do just that and found the perfect location atop Max Patch for what would be an unforgettable experience.
The Ceremony
Their meaningful ceremony was officiated by their close friend and pastor. The intimate size only made it feel more special to be included.
While surrounded by the majestic beauty of the mountains April and Meredith were pronounced wife and wife.
The inclusion of music by their dear friend along with a new tradition of “Unity Mimosas” added a touch of their personalities to this beautiful event.
The sunset and sky put on a beautiful show as I photographed the newlyweds surrounded by nature’s splendor. It was truly a wedding I will never forget!
The Reception
The brides held a fabulous reception the next night in a little place called Pisgah View Ranch. April and Meredith’s reception was just as they had hoped for, fun and full of love!
The personal details that Meredith and April included added a special touch to their day. All the guests enjoyed the amazing taco bar and cupcakes that exemplified the couples laid back attitudes.
The coziness of the space amplified the feeling that everyone there was an important part of April and Meredith’s love story.
It’s always a treat when a wedding reception has a live band. The band, Arnold Hill, kept the dance floor alive all night. This evening full of laughter and dancing was a magical celebration of Meredith and April’s marriage and their love for one another! It was clear that Meredith and April were truly celebrating with the people who have loved and supported them up to this day!
