The Location & Family
There’s something about the coast in the fall: crisp mornings and evenings with the feel of summer in midday. The quiet of the off-season beach and empty streets are more than magical for morning walks. Because of those reasons and more, I felt so lucky to be invited when my longtime friends Matt and Nancy threw a fall wedding at Wrightsville Beach for their beautiful daughter, Hannah. Capturing these memories for one of my favorite families after having watched the bride grow up was truly special.
The wedding weekend fun started with a casual rehearsal dinner complete with a taco bar. We couldn’t resist a few photos outside on the patio as the party spilled out into the cool night air. Hannah and Mason’s family and friends were a joyous crowd who clearly enjoyed each other’s company. Groups of extended family and friends made it clear how many people traveled in to share this happy occasion.
Getting Ready
The following day, fluffy robes and sweet toasts were aplenty as the bride and her attendants got ready at the beach house. Hannah lovingly included her brother, Jack, as her “bridesman”.
Special Touches
While the location speaks for itself, this wedding was made even more unique with some special touches. Many of the decorations, including the floral centerpieces, arbor, and favors were created by this artistic family. Staying with the Liddle’s during the days leading up to the wedding also allowed a behind the scenes view of how much work went into these little extras. No event can go off without a hitch, yet this family was ready to roll with the various punches, even the rainy forecast that lay ahead.
The Ceremony
Despite questionable weather, Hannah and Mason decided to proceed with the beach ceremony they had been dreaming of and planning. Fortunately, we snuck a few family portraits in prior to the ceremony. Shortly after, the wind and rain moved in, but that didn’t stop us from ensuring we captured all the beauty and love that was so evident between Hannah and Mason and the people who surrounded them for their special day.
The Couple
While everyone dried off and warmed up, we set off to capture portraits of the bride and groom. You can always count on a beautiful pier at the beach! Between umbrellas and porches, you can see that we didn’t let the wet weather interfere with shooting these newlyweds.
The Reception
Upon arriving at the reception, it was clear that Hannah and Mason had thought of everything to make their celebration personal, meaningful, and fun. Each floral decoration was arranged by Hannah and her mom, while personalized signs and favorite quotes were displayed around the site. The guests were spoiled with a delicious dinner, unbelievable dessert bar, and even M&M favors that included the couple’s precious pups pictures!
All the guests enjoyed dancing and laughing the night away. A sparkler send-off capped off the memorable day that Hannah and Mason became Mr. and Mrs. Kreider.
The bride and grooms wishes for their day were that it be fun, beautiful and relaxed. They wanted to get married and celebrate their love for each other, for everyone to enjoy the party and spend as much time on the dance floor as they could, and that there were photos to remember every little thing. At the end of the day, it was clear that they made all of those beautiful dreams happen plus so many more.
